What to expectWhat to Expect

Your shark dive starts at 11am where you begin a SCUBA theory session that takes approximately an hour. Then it is off to the local pool and time to put your theory into practice with an hour long pool session where you get to experience the underwater environment for the first time using your scuba diving gear.

After the pool session is complete take time out for lunch and then it's time to prepare for your amazing swim with the sharks. With wetsuit and scuba gear on, take the plunge into Melbourne Aquarium's 2.2 million litre Aquarium and explore an exciting new world where sharks reign supreme and marine creatures pass by and allow you to witness first-hand their daily lives.

The tank contains grey nurse sharks, seven gill sharks , Port Jackson and gummy sharks as well as sting rays and a whole myriad of other marine life.

This experience is available all year round. Sessions run 3 times a day, 7 days a week.

additional information you should know aboutOther Information

You should not fly within 12 hours following the dive. Do not drink alcohol 12 hours before your dive. Medical restrictions apply as some conditions can exclude you from diving such as asthma, chronic sinus, heart problems, diabetes or ear problems.

All dives are available for anyone over the age of 15 years. Under 18s must have a parent or legal guardian present on the day. You must be able to swim and be in good health.

Learning to scuba dive the instructors were great and very reassuring. only lows were that i experience ear problems when going deep at the aquarium but the instructors were able to fix my problem and allow to continuing enjoying my experience highly recommend it.

It was a great new experience to learn the basics of scuba diving and of course to see all the marine creatures in as close to their natural environment as possible. Totally enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.
