What to Expect
Scuba Tune Up is for certified divers who would like to refresh their skills. Great if you have logged less than 15 dives and haven't dived in the last 6 months. Your shark dive experience commences with a tunnel tour where you are introduced to the sharks from a distance. Then move into the shark dive classroom to for a SCUBA, equipment and safety briefing. Refresh your skills in the pool to ensure you are very comfortable in the water and know how to recover your regulator and clear your mask. Then it's time for some final gear checks before diving in to the main aquarium. The tank contains an endless number of creatures that are very keen to meet you with 4 different species of sharks including 7 adult and 1 juvenile Grey Nurse Shark, Maia. There are 4 different species of rays including the huge queen mattress-sized smooth stingrays and lots more.
Numbers
There is a maximum of 5 certified divers per session.
Weather
This experience is not dependant on the weather.
Duration
This experience lasts approximately 2.5 hours.
Dress
All equipment is supplied but bring a swimming costume and towel. If you like, you can bring your own full length wetsuit and mask.
Availability
This experience is available all year round. Sessions run 3 or 4 times a day every day of the week. We recommend you book at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance
Other Information
You should not fly within 12 hours following the dive and should not consume alcohol within the 12 hours prior to your dive. Participants must be able to swim and speak fluent English.
You must be 14 years and older. Participants must have a satisfactory level of health. Medical restrictions apply as some conditions can exclude you from diving. These include asthma, epilepsy, chronic chest, sinus or ear problems, recent injuries or surgeries and psychological problems.
STRICT MEDICAL RESTRICTIONS APPLY: You will be required to sign a declaration form upon attending your dive. If you suffer or have ever suffered form asthma, heart disease, epilepsy, diabetes, chronic chest infection, sinus or lung conditions, high blood pressure, have any recent injuries or surgeries then you will need a SIGNED MEDICAL CLEARANCE FORM from a doctor. Pregnant women are not permitted to dive regardless.
