What to Expect

Join your pilot at the airport terminal building for a pre-flight briefing covering the safety aspects of the Nanchang CJ6A training aircraft. The briefing includes information on how to get the most out of your flight in the war bird.

Safely secured into the aircraft, your pilot will start up its 9 cylinders, 10 litre, supercharged engine. With clearance to take off, the Nanchang's 285hp engine will thrust you into the skies for the start of the Dam Busters mission.

First your pilot will gain altitude, then fly straight and level before identifying the target. Quickly, the aircraft will dip its nose and dive at speeds of 300kph towards the target. You'll feel lighter and then the G forces will push hard as the war bird it begins to pull out of the dive for a tight tactical egress to avoid enemy fire.

Once you have pulled out, you take a victory roll before returning to base for a high speed military style approach and landing.

Voucher valid for one person.

Weather

In some conditions your flight may need to be rescheduled or certain flight movements may be avoided. The operator will call you if your flight needs to be postponed due to poor weather.

Duration

You should allow 1 hour for the experience. The flight is for 20 minutes.

Dress

Wear comfortable but sturdy clothing with enclosed footwear. A cap, sunscreen and sunglasses can help keep the sun off.

Availability

Available throughout the year - Monday to Saturday.

Other Information

Eat normal light meals before your adventure flight to avoid the feeling of sickness. You are required to sign a waiver form, so a photo id is required on the day. Under 18's require a parent/ guardian to sign on the day.

Suitable for all ages 12+. Maximum weight is 110kg. Max height is 6 foot 2 inches. You should be in good health and be capable of getting into and out of the aircraft unassisted. Unsuitable for pregnant women.
