What to Expect

Your experience begins at Docklands, where you'll be met by your crew and board the yacht, Veeword. Once on board, you receive a safety briefing and are shown around the yacht. The deck hand casts off and you begin a 35 minute trip down the Yarra River to Port Philip Bay. During this time, you can take the opportunity to steer the boat and the Skipper will point out the places of interest along the river and answer any sailing related questions you might have. Once in the Bay, the crew raise the sails and switch off the engine. At this point, you will have your first taste of real sailing - the silence, the gentle glide of the yacht through the water and wonderful views of Melbourne from the water. Take the helm and assist with the sail changes. Alternatively just relax and enjoy the sailing experience whilst taking in the views and the fresh sea air.

Numbers

Voucher valid for one person. Up to 9 people may join you on the yacht.

Weather

In the event of severe weather conditions your sailing experience may be re-scheduled. If your sailing is cancelled due to poor weather the skipper will arrange an alternative date with you.

Duration

Allow 3 hours for the entire experience commencing 10am, 1:30pm and 5pm

Dress

Please wear soft soled shoes on the day and we recommend you bring a warm jumper or fleece, waterproof jacket and a camera. During the summer months we also recommend a hat and sunscreen.

Availability

Available all year round subject to suitable weather conditions.

Other Information

We do not carry food on short trips. We do carry soft drinks and water which are available free to passengers.
