What to Expect
Warm glass, also known as glass fusing or slumping, is an ancient artistic technique that goes back to the second millennium BC. The process involves cutting and heating glass to various temperatures so as to melt, fuse or reshape it using the principles of gravity.
For the beginner, the processes of glass cutting, mould making and kiln operation is an intriguing and fascinating experience and best of all you get to take home your creations to show your friends and adorn your home.
Commencing with a tour of a working glass studio, you'll learn the art of glass slumping through demonstrations and hands on experience. You get to create your very own masterpiece and share your thoughts and ideas over a light lunch with other slumpers!
Numbers
This experience is valid for one person. Up to six people may attend the workshop with you.
Weather
This experience is not dependant on the weather.
Duration
The workshop is conducted on Saturdays from 10am to 4:30pm.
Dress
Dress in comfortable clothing on the day and wear closed shoes.
Availability
The experience is available most weekends and is conducted on Saturdays. We recommend that you book 4 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.

Other Information
Your glass creation will be sent for firing overnight. You can pick up your creation the next day from selected pick up points or you can arrange to have it sent by courier at additional cost.
This workshop is for participants over 16 years old. You will need to perform cutting tasks which requires you to apply some pressure to the tools used.
