Warm glass, also known as glass fusing or slumping, is an ancient artistic technique that goes back to the second millennium BC. The process involves cutting and heating glass to various temperatures so as to melt, fuse or reshape it using the principles of gravity.

Whether you are a beginner or glass hobbyist this workshop is sure to fascinate you. Learn to use the huge range of colored fusible glasses including the popular color-shifting dichroics to make your own dazzling glass jewelry.

The workshop charge covers all glass, use of tools and light 3-course lunch. Commencing with a tour of a working glass studio, you'll learn the art of glass fusing through demonstrations and hands on experience. Work will be fired overnight and is available for collection the following day from the studio or selected pick-up point. Alternatively, it can be mailed at the cost of postage.

All participants receive a full set of class notes including simple instructions for assembling the fired pieces. Assembly kits are available for purchase at the studio or you can take advantage of our assembly service. Come and enjoy the thrill of creating your very own fashion pieces!

Other Information

Glass creations will be fired overnight. Collection options; the next day from the studio, other days from selected pick up points or by mail at additional cost. Assembly kit to suit your individual pieces are available for purchase at the studio.
This workshop is for participants over 16 years old. You will need to perform cutting tasks which requires you to apply some pressure to the tools used.

Availability

The experience is available most weekends and is conducted on Saturdays. Other days can be arranged for group bookings. We recommend that you book 4 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.
